The Wii HomeBrew Installer will safely and easily unlock your Wii enabling you to play copied games and run homebrew applications.
There is a lot of information on the web about the Wii HomeBrew Installer. I spent many hours researching the various methods, but a lot of the information was outdated or wrong. I had downloaded a ‘free’ Wii Homebrew Installer initially but this killed my Nintendo Wii dead and I then spent 2 days learning how to get it working again.
I would like to share my experience with the Wii homebrew installer with you to help you make sense of everything! It turned out to be quite a confusing topic due to the amount of misinformation online.

When you think about chipping any games console, it usually involves buying a modchip and paying someone to install it for you. Modchips need to be hard soldered into the console making them very tricky and risky to install.
The Nintendo Wii is different though, and I will tell you just how easy it is to chip a Wii without even touching the console in less than 20 minutes. The clever guys at HomeBreWare came up with a revolutionary ‘soft chip’ which does everything a modchip can do but you just install it as a piece of software.
