Theres are a range of wii chip mod options available on the market, and you must make sure you buy the right one for the specific hardware revision of your Wii. The main issue with installing a Nintendo Wii mod chip though is it will require precise soldering skills to install it.

3. Install A Soft Chip

However as I pointed out above, a Wii modchip does require delicately soldering into place. If you don’t have any experience soldering this is going to be impossible for you to do yourself and you will have to seek out a professional Wii modchip installation service to have it installed at an additional cost.

What Does The Wii Softchip Do?

The Wii softchip is a small piece of software that makes changes to the Nintendo Wii’s file system allowing you to bypass built in copy protection systems and digital rights management. This means you can play copied games or run a number of homebrew applications to extend the functionality of your Nintendo Wii.
